Armed with a seemingly bottomless arsenal of insanely catchy Nu-West Coast hip hop beats, reigning production MVP DJ Mustard has had his calendar locked up in the past year or so piling up insta-hits with his own golden brand of summery Cali phonk, and with, on top of the expected hip hop team-ups, placement on upcoming pop and R&B projects from the likes of Jennifer Lopez, Trey Songz, Jason Derulo and Tinashe, its looking like his 2014 will only continue to make it rain gold and platinum plaques.

One of his biggest hits of last year–YG‘s addicting bro-anthem “My N***a”–has gotten the obligatory posse cut remix makeover, and while the true star of the show remains the track’s menacing loop of claps, keys and honking bass and Rich Homie Quan‘s sing-song hook, there’s a whole new slew of not-so-West Coast emcees added to the mix sounding as comfortable atop the beat as if they were born and raised in the Golden State themselves. With the original being somewhat based off a Lil’ Wayne song, Weezy‘s cameo here sounds meant to be, and Meek Mill‘s hyped signature slots in just as fittingly, but it’s Nicki who delights the most.

Coming off another stand-out remix of a Cali-centric tune, her take on PTAF’s “Boss Ass B*tch”, Minaj continues to draw up anticipation for her upcoming rap-focused full-length with a new track-owning move, unleashing a cool-as-cucumber sixteen complete with references to basketball A-listers (“Like a injured Chris Paul, you ain’t got no point”) and ’80′s kiddie stars (“I need a n**** with some different strokes, Todd Bridges”).
